La Hacienda! Paradise with a little peace of mind
 For a long time now, San Felipe has been gaining a reputation as one of Baja California’s top real estate and resort locations. Thousands of people have invested in a new way of life here. A way of life where the day just seems to move a little slower, and life is just that much simpler. The personal security firm Tecsys, has placed a security guard at the entrance to La Hacienda and will be distributing information in English and Spanish explaining the new procedures and how to get access. The gates will remain open for a short time longer to make sure that people understand the changes. This will allow La Hacienda to incorporate any feedback received and to maintain its standard of providing the ultimate in resident and visitor care.

Progress at La Hacienda Our construction department has been very busy here at Mi CASA del MAR at La Hacienda, trying to keep up with the huge demand for homes here. We are finalizing the designs of four homes that will be built in the Baja Community. The Baja Community will have spectacular homes in its own fantastic community with the grand finesse of La Hacienda. What sets this particular community apart is that the homes here will be at one of the last phases of completion when chosen by the homeowner. The only thing left to be added will be the finishing touches and happy memories by the fortunate investor. As if the incredible views weren’t enough, the Baja Community will have a huge pool, relaxing Jacuzzi, picturesque Palapas, several BBQ areas throughout, a fitness center, a horse-shoe pit, tennis courts, and a convenient shopping center. It was designed with every aspect of comfort, urban recreation, and of course awe-inspiring views.
To consistently bring our investors the best, considerable effort is being spent on the interior design of the homes. One in particular is being built for some of our investors, and is sure to turn heads. It will be a display home for upscale features, giving viewers a glimpse of what their dream home could look like. Among those features will be beautiful Atrium doors that have opening side lights with screens for ventilation without the hassle of screen doors. They will be very practical here. Essentially they consist of three doors. The solid wood passage door in the middle and glass panel doors on each side that swing out to let the warm San Felipe breeze in through screens that are fixed in place.
The Sonora being built for another investor is nearing completion. The structure of the Monterrey for the same investors is complete. A modified Monterrey model is well underway. It promises to be a popular design. We will soon start a new Baja design modeled after the home built for two of La Hacienda"s newest families. It has an attractive and practical floor plan that maximizes the fantastic view of the seas, the mountains, and the town of San Felipe.

Getting to San Felipe is now easier than ever
(Why drive when you can now fly to the town of “No Bad Days”?) With the beginning of the New Year, many families are planning their vacations and making all of their arrangements for their summer get-a-ways. Now that the Developers Association of San Felipe has chartered Grey Eagle Aviation to make weekly trips to our resort town, your next vacation here is that much simpler. You can now relax and leave the getting there to someone else.
There are thousands of people who have discovered the magic of San Felipe. Those people have been coming here for years. They have made the usual drive to come to this beautiful town. Some have even flown to the nearest airport in San Diego, and made the 4 hour drive from there. I know we all love to worry about traffic and gas prices, experience sore backs from driving, and hearing those 4 words we all love so much…"Are We There Yet??!!" For your next trip to San Felipe consider an alternative. Why not replace all of that with a quick flight on Grey Eagle Aviation directly into the San Felipe International Airport.
The San Felipe Developers Association has entered into a contract agreement with Grey Eagle Aviation, an air charter company, to provide chartered air service to San Felipe, Baja Mexico. The San Felipe Developers Association has chartered Grey Eagle Aviation to transport passengers leaving Southern California in the morning and arriving in San Felipe around 11 am. They depart San Felipe about 3:30 pm, and return to Southern California destinations about 1 hour and 30 minutes later.
Remember to book your trip early though, flights are filling up regularly.

Exciting things going on for future home-owners When it comes to buying that vacation, retirement, or investment home, Mi CASA del MAR at La Hacienda seems to have something for just about every taste and budget. Our Baja Community in particular is drawing the attention of quite a few future home-owners. We have some exciting things going on in this one-of-a-kind community, situated near the entrance to La Hacienda.
We are working on a unique condominium style section. Those fortunate enough to invest in these condominiums will enjoy a little something special. Each unit will boast a huge master bedroom on the upper floor. You could wake up every morning to the spectacular San Felipe sunrise. Each section will be developed into a U-shape (I believe that the “U” stands for Unbelievably beautiful), with a spectacular swimming pool as the center piece.
We are also in the planning stages of some amazing single family homes. These homes will be elegant and a step above everything else that is going on in San Felipe. There will be 3 models with 3 different fronts to the home to choose from. The floor-plans and décor will be breath-taking to say the least. The 3 models will differ mainly in square footage, and will be priced in the low $400,000’s for the smaller model, mid-$400,000’s for the mid-sized model, and high $400,000’s for the larger model. It has been said that the “wow-factor” will be at an all-time high when it comes to these homes.

Las Casitas Resort at La Hacienda
In November, we announced that Jesus and Stephanie of Heart and Soul Catering are coming to Las Casitas. They have been catering events for Mi CASA del MAR for some time now and as we mentioned will soon be moving into the newly remodeled kitchen adjacent to the Casitas pool. Well, we are proud to say that we won first place in the 2006 Annual San Felipe Shrimp Festival with these fantastic and innovative cooks. Jesus and Stephanie are pictured here holding their winning check for $25,000 pesos, which is enough to start making some of our plans a reality (pictured from left to right are Manuel, Jesus, Stephanie, Ruby, and Mi CASA del MAR's proud President Dave La Barre).
 We competed with a fantastic plate called Baja California Shrimp on Cactus Sauce which won first overall. In addition to winning a huge trophy, they also received a check for $25,000. This will help us out so we can complete the construction of our Gourmet Café at Las Casitas. As soon as possible, we will be able to serve these quality plates here at Mi CASA del MAR at La Hacienda.
So, congratulations to Jesus and Stephanie on their terrific cooking skills. We wish them the best of luck on their new Gourmet Café at Las Casitas, and look forward to enjoying their fantastic creations.

 Tony is a highly valued contributor to our efforts at Mi CASA del MAR at La Hacienda. Tony is pictured here with Mi CASA del MAR's President Dave La Barre. He has been with Mi CASA del MAR for about 6 months now. He manages an average crew of 4-10 employees, depending on the work load and how many projects are going on at one time. He and his crew do fantastic work on every assignment that he is in charge of.
Tony's work never ceases to impress all of us at Mi CASA del MAR, even those of us that have been in the profession for several years. He is always timely and professional. He and his crews consistently provide an impressive quality in not only painting but associated tasks like texturing and applying other finishes as well. Tony is a positive person and pleasure to work with. His leadership skills are evident in the work that his employees perform and the smiles on their faces.

Ask Alicia Around this time of year people all over the world choose to give a little back to help their fellow man. This is also very true in San Felipe. You can find people giving to their community all year round in this friendly little town. Around the holidays though, there are quite a few who want to know the best way to help out those in need.

After visiting San Felipe quite a bit, I have purchased a nice home here close to the beach where I will be living from November to June each year. I have to tell you that the people I have met have really had an impact on me. I see their generosity and how much they like to help others out, and it has inspired me. I make it a point each year to make a donation of either my time or money. I try to do it often, but make sure that I make some kind of contribution around this time of year. Especially with the Holiday season I want to help others, but find myself unsure of what local organizations to go through. I want to make sure that the money I donate makes the biggest impact on a family. Do you have any recommendations of who to contact?

It always amazes me how our community members will help others, and how they have affected so many people who come here. I think it is rare for the people of San Felipe not to have an impact on others. To answer your question, there are two organizations in particular that many people turn to when they are in need. The first is called DIF Municipal Delegacion San Felipe. Most people just refer to them as DIF. They are very organized, and will be able to guide you in helping others in need in San Felipe. You can contact Ruby Moran at 577-1994 (from San Felipe) for any questions about DIF.
The second wonderful organization is the Rotary Club of San Felipe North. The Rotary Club is a fantastic resource for helping out your fellow man, regardless of the time of year. As a matter of fact, their motto is “Service Above Self”. For membership or other information,
