It's warm with pleasant offshore breezes here in beautiful San Felipe.

The 4^th of July weekend is quickly approaching.  Mexico normally has elections the first week of July and Mexican law makes it illegal to sell alcohol within 48 hours of the election.  This is in direct conflict with the 4^th of July crowd that wants to drink and have fun.  Therefore, the Mexican government has moved the election to a later date, which means there will be no restrictions on the sale of alcohol over the 4^th of July weekend.

We are very excited to inform everyone that the highway north of San Felipe is being resurfaced.  The new road is really smooth and much nicer than the old highway.  The Mexican highway workers have been working very hard under the hot sun to resurface the highway.  They started the project near the Arches and are progressing north, resurfacing one section at a time.  Please be careful when you are driving in the construction zone. 

Konsag Island - Konsag is visible from the beach at any point around the bay, appearing at first glance to be a sail. The island offers a large population of sea lions, seals, and many species of marine birds. Its located 22 miles off the coast of San Felipe in the Sea of Cortez.  The fishing near the island is some of the best fishing you will find anywhere.
