Shrimp Season

Shrimp season has arrived!! The town has been buzzing all week in preparation for the annual Shrimp Festival, one of the most anticipated events of the year in San Felipe. The Annual Shrimp Festival held November 4th through the 8th along the malecon in downtown San Felipe. In addition to the live entertainment, a variety of vendors from near and far, and carnival rides and games, are the mouth-watering shrimp dishes prepared by local eateries. The festival is in its 10th year now and this time promises to be another really fun weekend for visitors and local people.

Fishing with Tony Reyes in San Felipe!

Tony Reyes is the real thing, the fishing legend.  When you go with, you will board his 115 foot boat in San Felipe and travel 250 miles south along the Baja coastline until you reach the area known as the “Midriff”.  Because this is the natural migration route for the yellowtail, it is sometimes known as “Yellowtail Alley”, or “The Fish Trap of The Sea of Cortez”.  As you fish all the major islands, your catch will likely include giant black sea bass, white sea bass, cabrilla, giant squid, red snapper, pargo, yellowtail and grouper.  Expect to find dorado, pinto bass, roosterfish, sailfish, marlin, amberjack, cabrilla, yellowtail, and grouper weighing in at over 100 pounds.  You may also be able to sight finback whales and bottlenose porpoises (in groups numbering a hundred or more) as you fish.  Tony Reyes offers exciting tours we highly recommend!

From Mi Casa del Mar Sales Team

Greetings all and welcome to the change of seasons in San Felipe! This is what we have all been waiting for: fantastic weather with blue skies, warm days, and cool evenings.  More people are coming into town and our sales team is busier than ever.  This month we will finish 2 model homes.  The views from these houses are spectacular and their designs are really well done.  Each home has been specially designed to make the best use of its unique lot.  In November we also break ground on 3 more homes that we will be offering for sale very soon.  People visiting in November will have the opportunity to see the homes in their various stages of construction.

We are making fast progress in the large lot home sites, La Hacienda Estates, and have already taken several deposits.  We are also working on some beautiful beach front parcels to the south with a lot of space and privacy.  We are very excited about our progress and hope you soon become our neighbors!

ASK ALICIA:

Hi Alicia,

I am a retired person and I was wondering what there is to do down in San Felipe.  I have visited the area before so I know what is there, but am really interested in any clubs or social events.  Thank you.

Mabel

Hi Mabel,

How are you?  Thank you for your question.  Many people have asked me that same question.  We have several clubs in San Felipe including an English speaking Rotary club that meets every Monday morning and is involved in many local events.  There is also the Las Amigas club, a writers' club, and several others.  You can check www.SanFelipeLiving.com and click on web links under the main menu.  Also, go to www.sanfelipe.com.mx for a great resource of local information.   Please stop in and meet me next time you are in town.

                                               Sincerely,
                                                          Alicia
